Local Online Marketing and Advertising for Doctors is a must!

Lately I have bumped into a few doctors and small local business owners and I find out that some have not even tapped into the raw power of local marketing online. More on more patients and shoppers venture online to either research a doctor’s reputation or simply find a doctor local to their area. If you don’t have an online presence you might just be shooting yourself in the foot because you are invisible to your online audience.

Nobody really knows what is on the horizon for our economy but you can bet your bottom dollar that tapping into online advertising for local doctors and business owners in general will be a must. If a potential patient looks for a doctors name online and cannot find any trace of them this could potentially discourage that patient to venture off and go with a much more visible physician. Over the last few years more and more whistle blowing websites have popped up and more and more consumers are searching doctor’s names to see if anything negative comes up. If nothing negative comes up than great, but if nothing at all comes up than this might also be hurting your business as well because like to see credibility.  As phone books continue to disappear from people’s pantries more and more will turn towards the internet to research their next purchase or doctor visit. If you have not started any local advertising campaigns with sites such as Google maps and Yahoo local you could very well be missing on a great deal of traffic.

Having a local online presence is very important. As our time moves into a digital world being listed in the phone book will become less and less important to the survival of a business. 15 years ago it was important to have a large ad in your local yellow pages, not so much anymore.  It is time to take your practice online and marketing yourself to the local community because if you don’t the person down the street you are competing against will.

It’s all about local, especially for service providers like doctors, unless of course you have some crazy specialty and people line up around the block to see you. If you are going to take the time to market, create a plan, track the effectiveness of that plan and adjust course to those forms of advertising that get you the response you want. If you are ready to track what works go to our website and see how we handle calls and clicks.
